Who says Paris is the only city of love? I’d say London, England is pretty darn romantic. My husband and I moved to London on New Year’s Eve 2013 and spent the next four months calling a little shared flat in Westminster home. Since the biggest thing on my agenda at the time was planning my own destination wedding in Hawaii, I had a lot of free time to kill and a photography portfolio to build. One day I decided to ask on reddit whether any London couples would like some engagement photos taken in the city.
These globetrotting lovebirds got back to me.
With roots in Malaysia and New Zealand, Janny and Philip are traveling the world together and spending a few years living in the U.K. before their wedding. You can tell instantly after meeting them that they’re best friends. They were bubbly and lovey-dovey throughout the entire shoot, allowing me a little look into their lives together. Isn’t that the best part about documentary engagement photography? You get a sneak peek into how people act when it’s just them two.
We must have walked a few miles around London that spring day…wandering around downtown in search of the best light, the best locations, the best moments. In the end, I think we got some pretty romantic, sun-drenched engagement photographs…just the way I like ’em ;)
These days, I still love hearing about all the new adventures these two go on: from a recent trip to Norway to an upcoming trip to NYC, they are some nomadic sweethearts who I’m proud to call friends.
Thanks, Janny and Philip for being my FIRST couple and thanks for giving me a peek into your love story. Cannot wait until your big day!
